Reuters” Besides providing living allowances to Ukrainians who go to Russia, Moscow also gives them passports.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Saturday to provide financial assistance to people moving from Ukraine to Russia, especially the elderly, pregnant and disabled. According to the news agency Reuters, the decree was published on a Russian government portal.

According to the decree, elderly people who have been forced to leave Ukraine since February 18 will be given a retirement allowance of 10,000 rubles (170 US dollars) per month. Disabled persons will also get the same monthly allowance. And pregnant women will get one time allowance.

The decree also states that citizens of Ukraine and citizens of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics will receive the same benefits.

Not only allowances, Moscow is also giving passports to Ukrainian citizens. Criticized by Ukraine and Russia, it is part of Moscow’s illegal attempt to annex the territories occupied by Ukraine.
